When we are at the initial stage where we do anything and everything to grow our Instagram account. Begging for Follow back is what we usually do.
And most of the people on the internet suggest doing so but this is something I really don’t appreciate.
When you ask some other person to follow you back in return for a follow, this will only make you look desperate and unprofessional.
You are getting a follow back not because you are a good Instagramer but because you begged for it.
Begging simply doesn’t sound nice.
And among all these stupidities of begging, there come to the people who put it on their bio saying “Do follow my page and I will follow back”. This is the greatest lie an Individual can ever put in their bio. It is good to appeal in bio but putting out something like “I’ll follow back” makes you look desperate and stupid, to be honest.
Never beg for followers. If you want people to follow you back then consider applying certain strategies to get followers.
Improper Bio
Your bio plays a very important role in growing your Instagram. If you have a nasty bio as shown in the image below (left image) then please stop doing it.
Just stay away from such bio styles. Keep it simple as shown on the right side of the image.
Those types of bios are unattractive and unprofessional.
It’s just not appealing.
Also, don’t put your follower’s goal in your bio. Not even sentences like “Don’t follow to unfollow” all sound cheesy and stupid.
Changing Instagram Username
Okay, I know what you’re thinking. Changing your username shouldn’t be a mistake to grow your Instagram. I somewhat agree but It does affect when your Instagram is well established with a good number of engaging followers.
See, you have a good number of followers and everything works fine until you change your Instagram username.
Changing your Username will also change your Profile URL. People will not be able to find you if they have the same old link. They also won’t be able to search for you with the old username.
All your previous usernames will remain the same in the comments and other places where you are mentioned. People will not find you if you change your Instagram username. This is because the same old username still remains in those comments and places where you were mentioned.
Also, Please make sure that you have a simpler username that could be easier to remember and search for. You will not see a good Influencer with complicated usernames. They all have a simple username except for certain few people.
So you should make it a habit at the initial stage. I have seen people who keep on changing their username, some of them being my own friends. And I have unfollowed my close friends thinking that they are some other person that I followed previously unknowingly. But it turned out that they were my friends who had just changed their username. This happens when we start unfollowing people and we only see their profile pictures. So we just unfollow any new username, if not just me, at least most of the people will unfollow.
This happened to me, there is no doubt that this could happen to you too. So avoid Changing your Instagram username and start sticking to just one username.
Making your Instagram account Private
This is one of my favorite Instagram Mistakes that I enjoy looking at when someone keeps their account private and aspires to become an influencer.
I mean, I totally respect their privacy. But if someone wants to be popular on Instagram then He/She should definitely make their Instagram account public.
It is also important to have a public account if you are using a business account.
Having an Instagram account set to Public opens a door to every individual to see your content and decide whether to follow it or not.
An individual is more likely to not follow you if you have a private account. I mean why would someone follow an individual without knowing what their content is about.
And if you are expecting someone to follow you back then having a public account will really help you get them to follow you.
There are also many benefits of having a private account. But If you want to become an influencer then consider making it private unless necessary for other privacy concerns.
Putting same Hashtags
We all know the Basic Instagram Hashtag Strategy yet we tend to put the same hashtags over and over again. It is not healthy to put the same hashtags on every new post that you post. So it’s better to understand how to apply Instagram hashtags properly to crack the algorithm.
I have a post where I have shared a certain set of hashtags that will give you Instant followers. If I want I could have provided only one set of hashtags there but I have provided around 10 different sets of hashtags that would differ from each other when you apply them to your Instagram posts.
So avoid same putting the same hashtags and start mixing it up.
Random Instagram Posts
When we are new to Instagram, we tend to post more and more content and it is good, to be honest. But when we are new to Instagram or aspiring to be an Instagram Influencer, we are so excited that we post anything and everything that we like.
We need to maintain a profile that looks professional. A good profile looks professional and a random posts profile just looks unattractive and unprofessional.
We are also told to be consistent by many big influencers and other internet people. But that doesn’t mean you would post anything that’s on your phone just to be consistent.
Make sure that your photo is well-edited before uploading. Match the perfect filter to your photo. Also, get a good Instagram caption for your post.
Try to be creative and make a profile that would attract an individual who visits your profile, ultimately leading them to follow you.
